Shotokan Masters Seminar On Sat Feb 11

Leslie Safar, 9th DAN

AJKA-I Technical Director and Chief Instructor – Europe
Leslie Safar, AJKA-I co-founder, has practiced Shotokan karate since 1958. He is well known on both sides of the Atlantic for his mastery as an instructor, his intense focus on the core technical principles of Shotokan Karate, and the development of instructor training programs dedicated to building the total instructor. Sensei Safar tours the United States on a regular basis, but spends the majority of his time teaching, directing, and developing AJKA-I karate in Hungary, and throughout Europe.

Kevin Warner, 6th DAN

Kevin Warner has over 33 years experience in traditional Shotokan karate. He has trained with some of the premiere instructors of the 20th and 21st century: Sensei Nishiyama, Sensei Dalke, and Sensei Otis. Sensei Warner has successfully competed nationally and internationally in the AAU, AJKA, WUKO, JKA & KWF. A 2007 WUKO Kata Champion and 4 times AJKA EURO cup Kata Champion, as well as a host of other traditional competition forums.

Warner’s dynamic technique, demonstrations, and manner of instruction is to the point and extremely inspiring.

Nathan Scarano, 6th Dan

Nathan Scarano began training in Shotokan Karate in 1979 and holds the rank of 6th degree black belt with the American JKA Karate Associati on-International. He has competed on 9 national teams, captained 5 teams, and won numerous national and international kumite events. At the prestigious Euro Cup in 2004 and 2006, he was the men’s ippon kumite champion and led the United States to gold medals in the Team Kumite events. Sensei Scarano currently coaches the AJKA-I US Team in which his teams have won in Canada, Hungary, and Germany. Sensei Scarano is also a 14 year veteran in law enforcement with high risk task force and gang experience. He is also an instructor in defensive tactics, firearms, and officer safety.
